Vita Art Center’s Art Camp is fun, engaging and educational! This specialized program gives young artists the opportunity to explore their creativity under the direction of our exceptional and enthusiastic instructors in a hands on studio environment. Students will learn skills and techniques in drawing, painting, sculpture and print making while creating amazing works of art.

Campers will have lunch together and then get busy having a ton of fun. The afternoon will be spent playing games, exploring, and of course making art. Please bring a lunch. The afternoon camp can serve as an extended day for kids in the morning classes and is also open to kids not in the morning sessions.

Instructor Colin Gray and Mary Perez will work with the kids to create their own unique handmade journal. They will then fill their journals with drawings. Kids engage in fun drawing projects that encourage creative expression, concept development, and advancement of basic drawing skills. Students draw 3D objects and increase their knowledge of the effects of light on form, volume and line.

AGES 8 & UP. Students will design and make their own soft sculpture art piece. They will start by creating a sketch of their design, make a pattern and then sew it together using a machine and by hand. No previous sewing experience is necessary.

Pinch, Roll, Squeeze... Students will find the magic hidden in clay as they transform it. The class will learn new skills in ceramics and exercise their imagination as they explore sculptural and functional ceramics.
