Traditional Japanese four – hole stab bookbinding

In this workshop, students will produce a bound book using four-hole Japanese stab binding. This is the perfect project for a beginner because stab binding is so simple. You can use stab binding to create a scrapbook, a family memento book, or a personal sketchbook.

In stab binding, single sheets of paper are used. No folding of paper is required which allows you to experiment. And no glues are used in the process of making a stab bound book. Two simple stitches will be taught.

In this workshop, you will also create a beautiful collage cover for your handmade book.
