Set in the VITA gallery, in between shows, this workshop (for writers in all genres) will explore the fecundity of the encounter with zilch, zip, zero, the vulnerability of fresh starts, the rich strangeness of the liminal, the not-yet-this-not-yet-that, the breathing space of the pause. Rest as resistance and nourishment, the beauty of the secret, and the ability to, as Wallace Stevens said (in “The Snow Man”), behold “Nothing that is not there and the nothing that is.” Let’s think together about what “nothing” offers and silence wants to say to us—and what we want to say to silence.
