Benjamin Provo (b. 1977) is a self-taught ceramic artist, painter and instructor

His work in clay is informed by hiphop, skate punk, graffiti, outsider, and indigenous art traditions and employs archaic Greek, Levantine, and Pueblo vessel forms as an armature for exploring mark-making, poetry, narrative, and drawing. While his signature sgraffito tumblers run the gamut from irreverent to poignant, his recent porcelain inlay (Mishima) vessels pay tribute to the sanctity of ceremonial communion.

He received a BA from Sarah Lawrence College in 1998 with a concentration in performance and poetry. His work has been seen at Exit Galleries (BOS), Velvet Maple (NY), &Sons (NY), Clay Lounge (BOS), Millstone Gallery (NJ), Clay Parlor (VTCA), Maker House/ClayStudio (SBCA), Harvard Ceramics Program (BOS), Mudflat Pottery School (BOS)
