Join us for a Mixed Media Portrait Workshop where creativity, photography, and hands-on art-making come together. In this engaging workshop, participants will create a one-of-a-kind mixed-media artwork featuring a portrait taken during the session.
Photographer Maia Landau will capture personalized photos of each participant. You’re welcome to use festive Valentine’s props—such as heart-shaped glasses—or bring your own meaningful props for a personal touch. A selection of portraits of iconic figures will also be available, or you may bring your own image printed on 8.5 × 11-inch paper.
Using your printed portrait, you’ll learn the packing tape image transfer technique, transferring the image onto a painted background to create a layered, expressive artwork. The result is a unique piece perfect for gifting or keeping as a special memento.
Valentine treats and beverages will be available for both kids and adults to enjoy throughout the workshop, adding to the festive atmosphere.
This workshop is open to ages 8 through adult. Participants ages 13 and under must be accompanied by a registered adult. Bring a loved one, a friend, or come on your own and celebrate Valentine’s Day with creativity, connection, and fun.
